Jacob deGrom was sensational yesterday, throwing a one-hitter in his first ever complete game at any level. The only hit allowed by deGrom was to the Phillies pitcher, Zach Eflin, in the 3rd inning of the contest held at Citizen’s Bank Park.
deGrom has seen an increase in velocity over the last month and the Mets are counting on him to stabilize a rotation that is falling apart. With Matt Harvey out for the season and rotation mates Noah Syndergaard and Steven Matz both suffering from arm issues in recent weeks, the Mets will need performances like these from the 28 year old to stay in playoff contention.
For deGrom and his fans, we at Baseball on Tap would like to recommend an ice-cold Longboard Island Lager from Kona Brewing Company in Kailua Kona, Hawaii. deGrom’s flowing locks and cool 105 pitch performance left us plenty of time to head to the beach after a 2 hour and 21 minute contest. The Longboard Island Lager is available year round, check it out!
